Neunkirchner musicians celebrate 55. Anniversary

Music connects and creates friends. This has been the motto of the jugend- und trachtenkapelle neunkirchen am brand (district of forchheim) ever since it was founded. The band celebrated its 55th anniversary with a big circle music festival, and invited friends from all over europe to attend.

It was a good thing that I was able to celebrate the founding of the big band "von der rolle" ten years ago and the already 25 years lasting friendship with the youth orchestra from the hungarian totkomlos could be celebrated as well as the 30 years lasting friendship with the royal fanfare st. Cecilia with her "klingenberger blaskapelle" from the belgian town of deerlijk; as an "encore it was also necessary to present the 40. Birthday of the own "brandbachtaler musikanten to celebrate.

Hundreds of visitors to the brass band festival from all over the region enjoyed the many facets of brass band music until late in the evening.

1100-Year celebration: wiesentheid as a picture book

Visitors, participants as well as the organizers were impressed and enthusiastic about the historical procession on sunday in wiesentheid. On the occasion of its anniversary "1100 years of wiesentheid", the market had put together a show in which events from the history of the community were depicted with great attention to detail.

60 groups and 1000 participants

60 groups with about 1000 participants transformed the town center into a colorful picture book. Wiesentheid gave itself a present with the festival procession on kirchweih sunday.

Someone up there in the sky must have been protecting wiesentheid on sunday afternoon. The raindrops in the morning were followed by a storm, which later arrived. Luckily not until the procession had long since reached the festival site.

Singing and mimicry delighted

Singing and mimicry delighted

Once a year, the noble lady's foundation opens the doors of its moated castle for the concert series "music in french castles". About 100 visitors listened to the five singers of the vocal group "amacord". "It was more than worth it to come here", emphasized listener klaus wilm. He was delighted by the lively singing.
A group of visitors from bamberg even traveled 100 kilometers just to hear the concert. "And it was worth it", underlined one of the upper franconians. "These sangers are world class", also gerhard bornkessel said. He did not regret the move from heckmuhle to the waizenbacher water castle.
The five "amacord-the singers are from the famous leipzig thomanerchor: wolfram and martin lattke (both tenor), frank ozimek (baritone), daniel knauft and holger krause (both bass).
"Murderousness and other life situations", was the main topic for this special kind of song evening. "Our concert is about murder and manslaughter, about love and jealousy", knauft explained the special selection of pieces for this evening. From the italian renaissance to german romanticism and modernism, the two dozen lectures covered a wide range of topics.
The audience was fascinated not only by the masterly voices, but also by the facial expressions and gestures, which often demanded a great deal of physical effort from the performers. Sometimes it even had the effect of exaggerated comedy, which, however, harmoniously fitted the topics. First and foremost, tenor wolfram lattke contorted himself to the delight of the audience.

Magical effect

Even after two hours of singing the magic effect of the group did not stop. Of course, there was still an encore to come.
"Werewolves, ghosts, murders, adulteresses, suicides", knauft summed up the concert evening's theme. Divorces 450 years ago in italian, the warnings for the horned husband from that time, painful madrigals and the hunt of the nobility for the sparing woman cat love the present forgotten.
In a farewell song, the slain husband was sung about – the wife follows him to his death in order to continue tormenting her husband in hell. The audience looked shocked.

When the organ rocks and revels

When the organ rocks and revels

It’s showtime in five minutes, but music producer, organist and choir director patrick glaser is as relaxed as ever. On this sunday, the protestant town church in kitzingen is already so full of people that the church is usually only seen on high holidays, but the man from ohringen, sitting on the bench in the organ loft, has not even noticed yet. Full house at the first concert of the music year – cantor carl-friedrich meyet is also pleased, who buries the audience together with glaser a little later at "orgel rockt. Glaser will now play classics of rock and film history, he explains to the visitors. And a few moments later, an unusual musical journey begins with vangelis’ "conquest of paradise".

The organ is widely known as the "queen of instruments". Why it has this status is partly due to its coarseness, but also because of the wide range of sounds that make the instrument something special. This becomes all the more clear on this sunday, as one is familiar with most of the pieces that patrick glaser intones during the one-and-a-half-hour concert. There the "phantom of the opera" murmurs darkly into the church nave, afterwards the organist lets the "angels" of robbie williams fly and lets the rhythm of the (imitated) guitars of the metal band knorkator stomp in their "children’s song".

It is a dream that patrick glaser has fulfilled with his concert tour, which has now lasted for three years, he explains. The idea was born out of necessity when the musician was asked to perform an organ concert in his home parish a few years ago, but was unable to put together the necessary repertoire of classical pieces at first go. But he could imagine playing rock melodies on the organ, he told the pastor at the time, and was surprised when he immediately agreed to the idea. Even more, when his concert was full with several hundred people. Since then, more than 15,000 people have listened to glaser’s arrangements.

All kinds of spabe at the kirchweih parade in vestenbergsgreuth

A tractor without gasoline, a fire department that can’t print out because of a power outage, and a local man who has torn his ligaments again – while intoxicated. These are all the stories of a whole year, which the young bachelors’ association told on sunday afternoon during their traditional kerwas parade.

"We keep track of everything that happens over the course of the year", explained chairman lukas brandt. In august, the ideas are collected and filtered, because out of all the messes that have happened in the past year, only the best really make it onto a trailer. This year the numerous spectators were allowed to look at a total of five of them.

The story of the band rupture

So it was about a vestenbergsgreuther, who almost regularly rubs his bander in a frenzy. The man was given a carriage with a sickbed by the young journeymen’s club, on which it was written: "that i like to drink a schnapps is well known, but the hamwech didn’t go so gallantly. The road is suddenly out on the other side, it’s knocking the bander out".
